Up for sale is an extremely RARE, 100% authentic original U.S. promotional poster autographed by the late legendary singer, songwriter, actor and social activist Harry Belafonte and issued by Buddha Records / RCA Victor in 2001 for The Long Road to Freedom: An Anthology of Black Music – Harry Belafonte’s 10-year labor of love that was recorded between 1961 and 1971 and finally released as a Limited Edition 5CD + DVD Box Set on the infamous day of September 11, 2001. This large one-sided poster features a stunning illustration of Lead Belly by the great American painter Charles White entitled “Good Night Irene” (a painting once owned by Mr. Belafonte and replicated for the box set cover art) and is matte printed on quality card stock in very limited quantities and was primarily sent to radio stations, publicists and key retailers at the time of the release. Condition: Poster has been boldly signed by Harry Belafonte in black marker on lower right corner. It has been carefully stored flat for over 20 years and measures approx. 18” x 24” and is in excellent condition – no holes, rips or major crease marks are visible.
